The Life I Need
“Where Are You On Your Spiritual Journey?”
All of us are on a spiritual journey. That is why I like to ask a person, “Where are you on your spiritual journey?
Obviously this answer is not found in us, for we are here for awhile on planet earth and then we are gone. To trust in ourselves or others for the answer to this question can only lead to despair and absurdity as Dr. Francis Shaeffer used to say.
Rather, we need someone who can provide us the answer who is greater than us, God, yet like us, human. Only ONE, Jesus Christ fills that description.
I realize that there are different views about Him today, but the bottom line is that He not only declared that He was God (John 8:58; 10:30-33), but He proved it by conquering the grave bodily (John 20). Through His death, burial, and bodily resurrection He has provided what we all need, forgiveness before God and His eternal life (Ephesians 1:7; I John 5:11-12).
The person who acknowledges before the Lord in prayer that he has broken His commands, sinned against Him, and then by faith asks Jesus Christ to forgive Him and to come into his life, will know for certain where he is on his spiritual journey (Romans 10:10-13; I John 5:13).
Having made that life-changing decision, the believer will become a member of God’s forever family. He will discover his origin, he was created by God, why he is here, to glorify God in all that He thinks, says, and does, and where he is going after this life, into the presence of God.
Jesus Christ is the “LIFE I NEED” for He is LIFE itself (John 14:6).
If Christ is not your personal Savior, bow your head and heart before Him now, tell Him that you have broken His commands, sinned against Him, ask Him to forgive you, and ask Him to come into your life and be your Savior. He will answer your prayer, and you will become a new creation in Him.
Find a church where the Bible is taught where you can grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Certainly, we would love to have you visit us at Grace. At the same time, may the Lord direct you. He wants what is best for you, and so do we. If the Lord so leads, we look forward to meeting you at Grace.
